This collection draws inspiration from everyday domestic objects and the communication between multiples. Old bodies of knowledge gained from studying an architecture and engineering degree have been combined with new skills and processes learnt in metalwork. Incorporating these elements function and form have been challenged. Construction techniques are purposefully exposed remaining true to the making process and application of craft. Silver and wood have been chosen for their visual, tactile and contrasting qualities with wood helping break down the precious perception of silver, encouraging interaction beyond function. Ideas of composition have been influenced by ‘Ma’ the Japanese concept of negative space and its impact on space and communication.
